1. General Shipping Information
In The Box uses trusted third-party courier and transport providers to deliver orders throughout South Africa.
While we aim to ensure all orders are delivered safely and within the estimated delivery timeframe, delivery timelines are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
Delivery times may vary due to:

Public holidays

Industrial action

High-volume periods

Remote delivery locations

Circumstances beyond our reasonable control
2. Risk & Responsibility
All orders are shipped via independent third-party courier companies.
Once an order has been collected by the courier from our premises, the risk in and responsibility for the goods passes to the customer, subject to applicable South African consumer protection laws.
In The Box shall not be held liable for:

Loss in transit

Theft after collection

Delayed deliveries

Damaged parcels caused during transit

Failed delivery attempts

Incorrect delivery addresses supplied by the customer

Consequential or indirect losses arising from delivery delays or courier-related incidents
3. Courier Insurance
Unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing prior to dispatch, shipments sent by In The Box are not insured.
Customers acknowledge and accept that:

Courier services are provided by third-party logistics providers

Standard shipping rates generally do not include transit insurance

In The Box does not automatically insure parcels against loss, theft, or transit damage
Customers requiring insurance must request this in writing before payment and dispatch. Additional charges may apply.
4. Damaged or Missing Goods
Customers must inspect all deliveries upon receipt.
Any shortages, damages, or delivery issues must be reported in writing within 24 hours of delivery.
Claims submitted after this period may not be considered.
Where applicable, In The Box may assist customers in lodging a claim with the relevant courier company; however:

Courier investigations and outcomes remain at the discretion of the courier company

In The Box shall not be liable for claims rejected by the courier provider
5. Delivery Address Accuracy
Customers are responsible for ensuring that all delivery information provided is complete and accurate.
In The Box shall not be responsible for:

Failed deliveries

Additional courier charges

Delays
-
Losses arising from incorrect or incomplete address information
Additional delivery or redirection fees may apply.
6. Collection Orders
For customer collections or third-party collections arranged by the customer:

Risk transfers immediately upon collection from our premises

Customers are responsible for checking quantities and product condition before departure

In The Box will not be liable for damages or losses occurring after collection
7. Force Majeure
In The Box shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

Fires

Strikes

Civil unrest

Power outages

Transport disruptions

Government restrictions

8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:

In The Box’s liability relating to any order shall be limited to the value of the products purchased

In The Box shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages

Customers agree that courier services are performed by independent third parties over which In The Box has limited control
Nothing in this policy excludes any rights afforded to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 where applicable.
9. Acceptance of Policy
By placing an order with In The Box, the customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and accepted this Shipping & Delivery Policy.
